Effective 3/1/24, the non-emergency transportation benefit has been carved out from Managed Long Term Care. This does not include Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) plans. This means that Managed Long Term Care members will no longer arrange transportation through their plan, but directly through the state's transportation vendor, Medical Answering Services. All MLTC members should have received a notice from their plans about this change and with instructions for how to request transportation going forward.

The State Department of Health (DOH) has stated that all information about trips previously scheduled by the MLTC plans was passed on to Medical Answering Services before the transition. 

Downstate MLTC enrollees (New York City and Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester and Putnam Counties) should contact MAS at (844) 666-6270 with transportation requests and questions. Enrollees in all other counties should call (866) 932-7740.

Temporary Exemption from Carve-Out: Social Adult Day Care

MLTC members who use non-emergency transportation to get to Social Adult Day Care should still arrange this transportation through their plan for the time being. This benefit will be transitioned at a later date that has not yet been announced.
