CMS reminds Part D plans of transition fill policy for current enrollees

CMS has issued a reminder to Part D sponsors that they are obligated to provide transition supplies to current enrollees who are negatively affected by changes to their plan's formulary.  

The memo, released on August 27, 2010, gives concrete examples of non-compliant practices that result in beneficiaries improperly being denied access to transition supplies, and offers suggestions as to how Part D sponsors can correct the problem.
